Welcoming Ramadhan 1440!

.

السّلام عليكم ورحمة الله وبركاته

.

Ramadhan Mubarak to all our community members!

I pray each of you and your families and communities is well, In-Sha’Allah.

.

The Messenger of Allah (saw) is reported to have said, “Ramadan has come to you. (It is) a month of blessing, in which Allah covers you with blessing, for He sends down Mercy, decreases sins and answers prayers. In it, Allah looks at your competition (in good deeds) and boasts about you to His angels. So show Allah goodness from yourselves, for the unfortunate one is he who is deprived in (this month) of the mercy of Allah, the Mighty, the Exalted.”

.    Only a few days remain before we embrace Ramadan, insha’Allah.  A lot has happened around us since the last Ramadan.  We, as a community have endured many trials over the past year.  We as a community are hurting in many ways and while we are working to proactively build strength and resilience through many spheres, let us also equally spend energy on spiritually building our strength and resilience.  It is true that many of us will have many lofty goals for Ramadan.  I pray Allah (swt) grants us the best for our intentions.  However, let us achieve the best of our goals through consistent efforts so we can finish Ramadan with a high state of Iman.  Let us work towards goals that will become habits once Ramadan leaves us.

.    I pray that this month of Ramadan will allow us to renew the Light and rebuild the zeal to continue to move forth with tawakkul in Allah (swt).  To have the gift of Ramadan is to know that Allah (swt) loves the Believers so much that He (swt) has given this entire month to find and experience a sweetness in faith both individually and communally.  This is a month of holding the rope of Allah (swt) and fasting together, praying tarawih together, of giving to our community, and standing alone in Qiyam and crying in sujood.

.    May we find ways to uplift every aspect of our being through the special worship of Ramadanboth individually and communally so we can find the strength that we seek through the rest of the year, inshaAllah.  I pray we find safety and love amongst one another and through our fast and worship through this month.  May our worship through this month unite us and grant us entry through Ar-Rayyan, insha’Allah.
